I have been volunteering doing Art classes at Ardgowan Hospital for cancer patients and patients in remission, I was doing two classes a week, however it has been dropped down to one class a week now due to the busy schedule in the hospice and also due to an increase of hours at the petrol station, unfortunately.

My art classes seem to be going down well with a few people informing myself, it has also been really nice to see some people really come out their shell and just through themselves into the work we are creating. You can really see the confidence and comfort grow each week. This also created a wee couple of hours to support individuals as well as enabling an atmosphere where everybody felt comfortable to talk openly about everything from the most mundane things to everyday struggles connected to their condition.

One person that has really effected me during this journey is a girl who is only a few years older than me, she has been so strong through everything and always arrives each week smiling, telling me how some of her family can't believe she is doing anything arty at all. She is an inspiration and gives me such drive and hope for getting to where I want to go, so I can learn and help people so much more than I can just now.

It is so humbling to be around such amazing and strong people.
